Charlie V. Martin

Charlie V. Martin, 82, of Demopolis, Alabama, died on March 19, 2020 at Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis.

Charlie was born in Pike Road, Alabama to V C and Odessa Martin. He married Mary Jo Purvis on July 18, 1962. He was a rancher and a life long member of the Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, VC & Odessa Martin; a brother, Bobby Martin; and  a sister, Katrina Grogan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jo Martin; two sons, Ed Martin (Gina), Alan Martin (Deb);  a daughter, Michelle Graham (Tommy); six grandchildren, Chance Martin, Cheyenne Martin,  Lance Ellis, Fallon Martin,  Trey Graham and Carnley Graham.

Charlie was laid to rest on Sunday, March 22 , in Memorial Gardens, Demopolis. Services were officiated by Rev. Larry Anderson and Rev. Richard Scott.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, 101 Pro Rodeo Drive, Colorado Springs, Co 80919, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn 38105.
