Alva Louise Martin

Alva Louise Martin, 90, of Mobile, formerly of Sweet Water, died Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Brookside on Cody Assisted Living.

She was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Sweet Water. She was a civil services worker.

She is survived by her niece, Brenda Hunt of Mobile; four nephews, Jerry Dunn of Sweet Water, Ted Etheredge of Sweet Water, Bruce Etheredge of Sweet Water and Danny Etheredge of Nanafalia; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Cox officiating. Burial was at Hoboken Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.

Active pallbearers were Jerry Dunn, Thad Tudd, Ted Etheredge, Bruce Etheredge, Matthew Etheredge and Amos Snodgrass.
