Two local teams ranked in top 10 poll

After the first week of football games, Linden High School and Sweet Water High School are still the only two local teams ranked in the top 10 of the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll in their respective classes.

Linden comes in a number two in the Class 1A poll and Sweet Water comes in ranked number six in the Class 2A poll.

Demopolis High School received the most votes out of the Class 5A teams outside the top 10, with 35 votes. The team in the number 10 spot, Fort Payne, received 67 votes.

Marengo Academy received one vote in the AISA top 10 poll.
